Acclaimed pianist-composer Emmet Cohen has been a lifeline for music lovers and musicians alike throughout the pandemic, hosting live performances via YouTube stream from his New York City apartment. The home-based shows, reminiscent of 1920s rent parties, continue weekly and have been insanely popular around the world.  Emmet Cohen’s sophomore release from Mack Avenue Records, “Uptown in Orbit” hits the street on October 28, 2022.

Emmet’s touring collaborators are both rising stars on the New York scene. Bassist Philip Norris won the “outstanding soloist” award at the Essentially Ellington high school competition just six years ago, with an impressive and growing list of performance credits.  Drummer Evan Sherman, a childhood collaborator of Cohen’s, has 10+ recording credits and his own big band.

Live performances on KUVO JAZZ are supported by Bonfils Stanton Foundation, Drum City Guitarland, Grace Design Pro Audio, Listen Up, Schmitt Music – Englewood, and made possible by KUVO’s Studio Club and Beat Collective members.
