Tom Wopat sings jazz!

Most people know actor Tom Wopat as "Luke Duke" in the 80s TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard." But he spends most of his time on Broadway, with Tony nominations and musical roles in "Annie Get Your Gun," "Chicago," "42nd Street," "Glengarry Glen Ross," "A Catered Affair," and more. Wopat is in Denver to perform Saturday night (Nov. 23, 2013) with the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 East Alameda Ave.

It's modern jazz, young, hip and adventurous, anchored by unshakeable tempo. The Ai Kuwabara Trio Project visits the Auraria campus in downtown Denver on Monday, November 18. (7:30 p.m. at the King Performing Arts Center) Free admission and free parking! 22-year old pianist Ai Kuwabara is accompanied by Yusuke Morita on bass and Shintaro Imamura on drums. KUVO jazz critic Norman Provizer calls their sound "interesting, engaging, exciting music.

Starz Denver Film Fest: Gene Kelly The Legacy

Among the special events at the 2013 Starz Denver Film Festival was Tuesday night's appearance of Patricia Ward Kelly, Gene Kelly's widow and keeper of the dancer/director/choreographer's flame.  He was a forerunner, said Mrs. Kelly, whom he hired as his biographer, then married in 1990.
