Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles is a Denver-based swing band devoted to revitalizing swing music and dance. This small group style band packs a punch of power, personality, and wit into each show, intriguing generations new and old with the beloved charm of big band swing from the 1930’s-1940’s. The group is notorious for their spot on arrangements and electrifying energy.

July keeps rolling along with festivals in Longmont and Winter Park, along with sounds in Crested Butte. The 36th edition of the Winter Park Jazz Festival in Hideaway Park on Saturday and Sunday is a crossover event with artists such as Sheila E, saxophonists Boney James and Eric Darius and guitarist Norman Brown. The festivities begin both days at 11 a.m. and run until 6 p.m. (crestedbuttemusicfestival.org).

We are moving to 5th Avenue in Downtown Longmont! This year the Longmont Jazz Festival will celebrate 20 years as Longmont's only Free outdoor festival celebrating the music and culture of Jazz. This year's festival will take place on Saturday, July 21 and will move from its previous location in Roosevelt Park to 5th Avenue in the heart of thriving downtown Longmont.  We are proud to announce Ritmo Jazz Latino, the 2017 nominee for Denver's best Jazz group, as the festival headliner!

Every Monday at Noon the New Music Monday edition of Jazz with Arturo Gómez debuts the latest and hottest arrivals to KUVO Jazz. This Monday, September 11th will feature vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater paying homage to her hometown of Memphis with a fine selections of songs associated her birthplace. The new recording, Memphis...Yes, I'm Ready features two tributes to kings, B.B and Elvis as well as to the legendary Stax sound, Also on the menu will be the newest by Denver's own, Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles, Gin and Moonlight, their best outing to date!
