October is Breast Cancer awareness month and it has taken it's toll on so many people. Cancer itself is a ruthless opponent that strikes without warning. Many people have lost their lives to cancer  (Art Blakey, John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie) and others have battled the beast and come out on top. District 9 City Councilman Albus Brooks is one of the many who have come out on top. He stopped by our studios to discuss his journey and share some words for people who are battling cancer  and for their loved ones.

The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic OKLAHOMA!  is in town at The Stage Theater- Denver Center for the Performing Arts Complex through Oct.14. The musical celebrates its 75th year in production and in his DCPA directorial debut, Artistic Director Chris Coleman puts a new spin on an old classic.   In a ground-breaking move, Chris has brought together an all-black cast for this five-week Denver run of Oklahoma!

The Master's Apprentice

The Master’s Apprentice is a seven-week course that helps young people find a career in the trades.  This free program helps students learn the “tools” of the trade that will help them receive job offers after graduation and move them towards a life long career.

It’s September and summer is almost over, and for a lot of people they think that grilling is done as well, but that is not the case according to Jason from GQue BBQ. He joined us for this month’s Joy Wine and food pairing and brought some ribs, garlic mashed potatoes, a delicious in-house recipe mac and cheese, and a killer bourbon cherry cheesecake.
