By way of his work in 1950s and 1960’s, the eternal Thelonious Monk established himself as one of the great composers of jazz music, crafting more than 70 other tuns full of whimsy, beauty, grit, & darkness.  Drummer Braxton Kahn & his quartet—Adam Gang (saxophone), Seth Lewis (bass) & Tom Amend (piano) are thrilled to present both faithful & fresh renditions of off-the-beaten path gems from the Thelonious Monk catalogue.

Braxton Kahn was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado and has studied & performed with many of Colorado’s finest musicians including Art Lande, Brad Goode, & Paul Romaine. While studying music at CU-Boulder, he had the opportunity to perform with Paquito D’Rivera, Dave Douglas, Donald Harrison, & Henry Butler.  Since earning his Bachelors of Music Degree from CU in 2016, Braxton has become a staple in the Denver scene area and performed with Tony Monaco, Rashawn Ross (Dave Matthews Band), Bobby Floyd & many others.
