In the west African nation of Mali music is revered. Singers and Poets, aka Griots, have served as their oral historians for hundreds of years. Western musicians have been fascinated by the almost mystical connections between traditional Malian music and Jazz and, especially, the Blues. The Jazz River travels the Rivers of Mali. Hear Toumani Diabate, Ali Farka Toure, and others perform their songs and cross-pollinate with Taj Mahal, Hank Jones,  and even flamenco singers.

Tune in on Sunday, March 29 from 5-6pm with host Matthew Goldwasser. Only on KUVO Jazz.
