Hazel Miller

A KUVO JAZZ and THE DROP 104.7 Project

Hazel Miller’s voice is one of Denver’s true treasures, a powerhouse instrument that can bring a crowd to its feet or reduce it to hushed reverence.

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Hazel discovered early on that singing was not just a gift but a calling. What began in church choirs and local stages soon turned into a lifelong journey, carrying her across the country and eventually to Colorado, where she became a beloved fixture of the Mile High City’s music scene.

For decades, Hazel has defied easy categorization. Her music draws from the deep wells of jazz, blues, gospel, and soul, blending them into performances that feel both timeless and electric in the moment. She has shared stages with legends like James Taylor, Al Green, and Big Head Todd and the Monsters, while also carving out a name as a bandleader with her own indomitable style.

More than just a singer, Hazel is a storyteller. Every note carries the weight of experience, every song feels like an intimate conversation. Onstage, she radiates joy and honesty, reminding audiences why live music matters, because it connects us, heart to heart, across every boundary. Hazel Miller isn’t just a performer; she’s an institution, a voice that tells the story of resilience, love, and the enduring power of song.

Beat Box mural artist Garrett Etsitty

Muralist

Garrett Etsitty

Garrett Etsitty (Dine’) was born and raised in Chinle, Arizona. Garrett grew up with a deep love of painting and culture. From the petroglyphs on the canyon walls to the stories passed down from his elders, his work draws upon the inspiration of what it means to be a Dine’ person. He presents a worldview that comes directly from the stories handed down by the elders of his tribe. Garrett’s paintings express an oneness with creation, an unbroken loop from the creation story of his people to the modern day. He is interweaving the parallels of the unconscious with the struggle of the natural environment.
