A poster for Bobby Wiens Quartet: Eastern Rebellion Project event

Join us for this special series featuring drummer Bobby Wiens and his band as they celebrate the music of the iconic Eastern Rebellion. Formed in 1974, Eastern Rebellion featured pianist Cedar Walton and drummer Billy Higgins as the group leaders. At different points in its existence, personnel included Clifford Jordan, George Coleman, Sam Jones, Bob Berg, and Curtis Fuller, all contributing to the sound of this supergroup. Bobby will be joined at Nocturne throughout the month of April by a stellar lineup including: Taylor Clay (saxophone), Ben Markley (piano), and Seth Lewis (bass).

Bobby Wiens is a professional drummer based in Colorado, with over 16 years of experience performing, touring, recording, and educating. Bobby's first album as a bandleader, Talking Drums, is available on the "Cellar Live" record label. He is also an in-demand sideman who has worked with a number of world-class musicians both locally and internationally. In addition to his performance-based work, Bobby is an avid music educator. He is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Northern Colorado and Front Range Community College. He is also heavily involved in the teaching of private studio lessons, clinics, and master classes for musicians of all ages.
