Broadcast Outage: We're investigating a broadcast transmission failure and are working to resolve this issue. In the meantime, you can listen online here or on the KUVO app.
For our Summit County Listeners: The KVJZ 91.7FM transmitter site on Bald Mountain experienced a catastrophic power line failure. Because of the high elevation and winter conditions, repairs won’t be possible until next summer. Stream KUVO JAZZ on our website, the app, or your smart speaker.
“This is more than a meal — it’s a community gathering . . . honoring 20 impactful years of hosting The Gospel Train broadcast by Deborah Walker. This milestone celebrates the power of gospel music to inspire, connect, and uplift generations.” — KUVO Jazz
Hosted by KUVO programmer and DJ of the Gospel Brunch show for more than 20 years, Deborah Walker.
For the 10:30 a.m. seating of the Gospel Brunch, Sia Chandler brings a deeply personal and soulful resonance to the stage, blending her roots in Denver’s local music scene with a career defined by community and healing. A lifelong performer who began singing publicly at age eight, Chandler is recognized for her rich, emotive vocal style that mirrors the classic jazz and soul traditions. Beyond her vocal prowess, she is a celebrated community leader and the founder of the Decades of Love Band, a project born from her own journey of healing through music.
Her show at the Gospel Brunch will be a masterclass in singing as service, featuring a repertoire that bridges the gap between traditional gospel hymns and the Decades of Love philosophy. Expect a performance that is as much about spiritual connection and storytelling as it is about musical excellence, delivered by an artist who truly embodies the heartbeat of Denver.
Then at 12:45 p.m. for a separately ticketed show, Dr. Daryl Walker offers a performance that is both intellectually profound and spiritually electrifying. As the former Performing Director of the Spirituals Project at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, Dr. Walker is one of the nation’s foremost experts on the African American spiritual. His career is a unique tapestry of academic rigor and grassroots activism; he is a co-leader of No Enemies, a Denver-based collective that uses music as a tool for social justice. Walker’s approach to gospel is rooted in the belief that music is a catalyst for human rights and communal liberation.
His Gospel Brunch set will likely dive deep into the Roots of Gospel, showcasing his ability to lead a room through the historical evolution of the genre—from the fields to the modern sanctuary. Known for his powerful, soaring tenor and his skill as a pianist, Dr. Walker doesn’t just perform; he ministers. His show promises a high-energy, sophisticated exploration of faith and freedom that will leave you educated and inspired.
Dazzle’s brunch menu is a major attraction all by itself, with a legendary chef-curated food station with a wide variety of choices, made-to-order items, and optional bottomless drinks (not included).
