Help share more music in 2026 - make a year-end gift!
Due to high winds and fire danger, transmitters are operating at reduced power and reception may be affected through the weekend. Thank you for your understanding and support! You can listen online and on the KUVO app.
For our Summit County Listeners: The KVJZ 91.7FM transmitter site on Bald Mountain experienced a catastrophic power line failure. Because of the high elevation and winter conditions, repairs won’t be possible until next summer. Stream KUVO JAZZ on our website, the app, or your smart speaker.
Join us for this special night featuring Andrew Vogt and his quintet as they explore the music of Al Cohn and Zoot Sims. Vogt's singular voice as a performer and composer, along with his infectious enthusiasm, make him a Nocturne favorite! For this one-off performance, Vogt will be joined by Eric Gunnison (piano), Drew Morell (bass), Rich Chiaraluce (sax), and Andreas Schmid (drums).
Andrew Vogt is a freelance sax/clarinet player based in Colorado. He is featured on many artists’ releases, including recordings by Mark Sloniker, Paul Mullikin, Adam Bodine, and more. Andrew has four CDs out under his own name, entitled “Action Plan”, “Cats Afoot”, “Twirling Zucchini Trio”, and his 2019 release 'Distracted by Donuts.' Andrew Vogt earned a degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska while majoring in saxophone and minoring in clarinet. In addition to performing, he is proud to be the band director at St. Joseph Catholic School in Fort Collins, St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, and Immanuel Lutheran School in Loveland. He also maintains a private studio, teaching woodwind students of all levels of skill and experience.
