We are delighted to welcome multi-instrumentalist and bandleader Drew Morell back to the Nocturne stage as he honors the legacy of jazz guitar legend Emily Remler. A guitarist with a meteoric rise and a tragically short career, Remler was a master of the jazz idiom, from bebop to hardbop to Brazilian styles. This Denver-based quartet features Drew on guitar, Dave Hanson on piano, Gonzalo Teppa on bass, and Dru Heller on drums.

For over 25 years, Drew Morell has been a professional jazz pianist, bassist, guitarist, and music educator in the Denver area. He was the house bassist at the nationally renowned jazz club El Chapultapec for three years, has traveled with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra and performed many times with Ron Miles, Red Holloway, Nick Brignola, and Javon Jackson, Ralph Sharron, Spike Robinson, Denis DiBlasio, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Bud Shank, Bobby Shew, and many others. Drew is a full-time faculty member at the University of Colorado at Denver, owns his own music studio (Infinity Music), and has been recorded as a sideman on more than two dozen recordings.
