Host of Sunday afternoon’s “La Raza Rocks” show on KUVO is Pocho Joe, who brings unmatched passion for the roots of Chicano Rock to the airwaves every Sunday at 1 p.m.

His scholarly knowledge and insight on popular music and the Latinos behind it earned him a place in the Chicano Music Hall of Fame (2018), and Westword recognized him as “Best Radio Host” in 2021. Pocho Joe dropped by The Morning Set to tell a few stories about the music and what keeps him energized for 22 years and counting.
