Community Connection: Myles Chapman, Founder of Colorado HBCU Connect
On Friday, August 8, during the 11 o'clock hour on Community Connection, Myles Chapman, a young man who’s truly motivated by his values of equity, inclusion, and empowerment joined us for a conversation.
Myles is the founder of Colorado HBCU Connect, a non-profit organization with a mission geared toward connecting, supporting, and empowering Colorado HBCU students. HBCU stands for Historically Black College or University. These are institutions of higher education in the United States that were established before 1964 with the primary mission of educating Black Americans, according to educational resources. Colorado HBCU students deserve more representation because there are no HBCUs in Colorado.
As a sophomore at Morehouse College majoring in Business Finance with a minor in Political Science, Myles is driven by a mission to create meaningful change where finance meets law, public policy, business strategy, and social justice. With a growing interest in law, investment banking, private equity, and other finance pathways, he aims to leverage capital and deal-making to empower underserved communities and shape a more equitable economy.
Whether through internships, case competitions, or policy research, he seeks opportunities that challenge him to think critically, lead boldly, and act with purpose. Chapman is truly motivated by values of equity, inclusion, and empowerment.
