KUVO Jazz 89.3 Soaked in the Sounds at JAS June Experience 2025
KUVO Jazz 89.3 headed to the hills this past June for a weekend of music, mountains, and community at the JAS June Experience 2025 in Aspen/Snowmass. From June 26–29, Aspen came alive with the sounds of jazz, soul, funk, and global grooves — and KUVO was there to capture it all.
KUVO’s team was on the ground, connecting with artists, fans, and festival organizers to soak up the full experience and bring stories back to our listeners. We recorded artist interviews, gathered soundbites, and took in performances across Aspen’s eclectic mix of intimate venues from cozy hotel lounges to historic theaters.
Festival highlights included:

🎶A showstopping performance by Christian McBride and the JAS Academy Big Band featuring José James and Alicia Olatuja
🎶 High-energy sets from Tank & the Bangas, Dumpstaphunk, and Marcia Ball
🎶Matt Schofield brought his signature style of fusing blues, jazz, and funk to life in a cozy, electric atmosphere.
🎶Takuya Kuroda and Salin each brought their own flavor to the stage. Kuroda blending Afrobeat, funk, and jazz, while Salin wove Thai rhythms with psychedelic soul. Each delivering a set that felt fresh, global, and deeply groovy.
The city of Aspen transformed into a jazz-lover’s playground, with music flowing from venues like the Wheeler Opera House, Belly Up Aspen, and the historic Hotel Jerome.
Whether it was grooving in the basement of the Sterling Room or enjoying a coffeehouse combo at Unravel or Gravity Haus, the spirit of jazz was everywhere — and KUVO was proud to be part of it.
