Spencer Zweifel

Northern Colorado jazz keyboardist Spencer Zweiful first dug into the Burt Bacharach catalog with a residency at Denver’s Nocturne Supper Club shortly after the master composer’s passing in 2023.

The experience inspired a new album from the Spencer Zweiful Trio (Matt Smiley – bass, Brian Claxton – drums), “Close to You: The Spencer Zweiful Trio plays Burt Bacharach.” “There’s a sophistication to the melody writing, to the harmonies, the form. They’re just so much fun to explore,” Zweiful told The Morning Set.

The record drops on November 6, 2025, and the group is celebrating with another residency at Nocturne over the next three Wednesdays (Nov. 5, 12, 19). Nocturne Jazz / Spencer Zweifel Trio Plays Bacharach.
