Live on KUVO: The Wil Swindler Elevenet on YouTube, Twitch | Thursday 7/10

Next up on The “Live on KUVO” video series, the Wil Swindler Elevenet, captured in the Masterpiece Performance Studio. It’s a celebration of Gil Evans, some originals, and modern covers to surprise you. The set rolls out on our YouTube and Twitch channels on Thursday, July 10 at 11 a.m. and available on demand after its release.

The Elevenet is Wil Swindler’s larger ensemble featuring his compositions and arrangements. The band has been performing together regularly since 2007. It is a unique combination of jazz improvisers and classical musicians comprised of the Front Range’s top players. Precision ensemble playing, top-notch writing, and adventurous improvisation are the key features that have contributed to their staying power and success in the Denver area.

In addition to creating works celebrating the mastery of Gil Evans and daring crossover ventures into the pop realm (Regina Spektor! Billie Eilish!), Swindler has crafted numerous original works gleaned from the influence of the greats.

What they’re saying about Wil Swindler’s Elevenet: “Sometimes quirky and offbeat; sometimes lyrical and delicate; and sometimes sheer crazy fun!” - George Fendel, Jazz Society of Oregon

“There’s major-league musicianship present in abundance.” - Bill Kirchner, Jazz Historian/NYC saxophonist
