Newport Jazz Reveals Final Saturday Lineup
The line-up for the 2025 Newport Jazz Festival, taking place August 1-3, represents a cross-section of some of the biggest names in jazz and they've just revealed the highly anticipated final artists on the Saturday line up!
Hailing from London, Nubya Garcia has quicky risen in the contemporary jazz scene as a masterful composer & tenor saxophone player, effortlessly weaving together jazz, soul, and Afrobeat. As an honors graduate of the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Garcia has garnered critical acclaim for her EPs & studio albums (Source & Odyssey to name a few). In fact, the latter album featured contributions from festival-mates Richie Seivwright of Kokoroko & esperanza spalding, who we’re excited to watch on August 2 & 3 respectively. We’re chomping at the bit to see Garcia’s beautiful improvisations & global influences on Newport’s Saturday, August 2's lineup.
Flying Lotus has also officially joined the 2025 Newport Jazz Festival lineup, being revealed as one of the mystery headliners. Known for his wild mix of jazz, electronic, hip-hop, and experimental vibes, FlyLo (real name Steven Ellison) has built a name for himself by constantly pushing musical boundaries. With deep jazz roots—he’s Alice Coltrane’s grandnephew—it’s only fitting he’d land a spot at one of the genre’s most iconic festivals. He’ll be hitting the stage as well on Saturday, August 2, alongside other heavy-hitters like Janelle Monáe and Nubya Garcia. Between his genre-blending albums and his recent work in film, Flying Lotus is bringing a fresh, forward-thinking energy to Newport this year. Flying Lotus will be making a stop in Denver to play the Mission Ballroom alongside Reggie Watts on June 17.
