Salsa Con Jazz: Celebrating Cal Tjader's Centenary
On Sunday’s edition of Salsa Con Jazz with Arturo Gómez, we'll honor the centennial of the birth of the most important non-Latino in the history of Latin jazz, Cal Tjader.
The tribute will feature the music of Tjader from his early 1950s recordings through his career that tragically came to a premature end in 1982 when he passed away while on tour.
Salsa con Jazz will share his great collaborations with stellar musicians including Eddie Palmieri, Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente, George Duke, Poncho Sanchez, Carmen McRae, and several all-star Brazilian musicians.
That’s Sunday, July 13 at 2 p.m. on Salsa Con Jazz!
