Vinyl Vault: Dave Valentin, "Pied Piper"

Next time on the Vinyl Vault, we’ll feature an album by Latin-jazz flutist Dave Valentin (1952 – 2017) entitled “Pied Piper.” The album was released in 1981 on the GRP label, and Valentin was the first artist signed to the label by its founders, Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen. Valentin released 21 albums under his name, and “Pied Piper” was the fifth.

The album was recorded with Valentin’s touring band at the time, which included Lincoln Goines on bass and Oscar Hernandez on keyboards. Dave Grusin helped out on some tracks.

Join host Geoff Anderson on Tuesday, October 28, at 8:30 p.m. for some Dave Valentin on the next Vinyl Vault on KUVO JAZZ.
