Community Voices: Faustine Curry and Kevin MacCary

Faustine Curry, VP of Fundraising, Marketing, and Volunteering, discussed their "Meals On Wheels" program, from meal preparation in their Commerce City kitchen, to distribution by the many volunteers. VOA Colorado serves over 100,000 people…families, seniors, and veterans each year, offering compassion-driven care that strengthens communities and touches the mind, body, and heart.

VOA Colorado volunteer, Kevin, talked about his typical day as a volunteer, and shared a touching story about one of his clients. He explained how important the social connection is to some of these people who otherwise would have no social contact at all, and how rewarding and fulfilling it is, not only to the clients, but to the volunteers.

They also explained their immediate need for volunteers and donations to VOA Colorado. Volunteers can give as little as thirty minutes of their time to deliver a meal or two, it really helps.

If you'd like to learn more about their program, donate, or volunteer, visit voacolorado.org. If you're part of an organization that improves our community, we'd love to get the word out. Please email pauldonovan@kuvo.org or go to "Contact Us" on our website at kuvo.org.
