Jazz Odyssey Presents: iies. on KUVO YouTube, Twitch Channels
If you missed the recent Jazz Odyssey Presents show with the group iies. at Two Moons Music Hall, the video goes up on KUVO’s YouTube and Twitch channels, Thursday, November 6, at 11 a.m.
The band "iies." (pronounced "eyes") revolves around the concept of diverse perspectives, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and expressing individual viewpoints. Through a fusion of genres like Jazz, Blues, Rock, and Hip-hop, the band showcases a unique musical perspective. Their lyrics delve into themes of mental wellness, trauma, and redemption, offering a fresh and positive outlook that highlights community, acceptance, and humanity.
Their set, captured at Two Moons Music Hall in Denver (and emceed by Abi Clark), included music from their previous album "Don't Forget The Dot," blending Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, electronic music, and the "experimental jazz rap" style that the iies. collective has become known for. They also played music from their new eight-song EP, including the track "No Kings," a blend of drum and bass, rock, punk, and rap, an amazing anthem to current times.
The band is coming off a busy summer performing at venues and events across Colorado, including KUVO, Dazzle, The Marquis, The Underground Music Showcase, and Sofar Denver. They also played the "Electric Honey Festival" in Utah.
