Jazz Odyssey Presents: The Max Moore Quintet from Two Moons
The vanguard of new music in Denver is KUVO’s “Jazz Odyssey Presents” series of live events. The Max Moore Quintet plugged in at Two Moons Music Hall this past November (2025), and we’ve got the video, now posted at KUVO’s YouTube and Twitch channels!
Originally hailing from Conyers, Georgia, Max Moore is an up-and -coming pianist on the Denver music scene. Playing professionally since the age of 14, he attended Denver School of the Arts and went through the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts, studying under and playing with Denver greats such as Eric Gunnison, Shane Endsley, Brad Goode, Paul Romaine, Greg Gisbert and Greg Harris. At Denver School of the Arts he got the great chance of being able to attend masterclasses and play with many jazz legends that would come through the school, such as Melissa Aldana, Ron Miles, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Greg Osby, Veronica Swift, and Terrell Stafford, among others. After graduating he attended The New School in New York City, where he got the opportunity to study with former Jazz Messenger Dave Schnitter, along with one of his heroes Hal Galper. He considers his time in New York one of the most important and formative experiences in his musical life, meeting and playing with his fellow peers and getting to watch his musical heroes play all over town.
