Shawn Swan

It is with profound sorrow that KUVO JAZZ announces the passing of our cherished friend and radio host, Shawn Swan. He passed away on March 2, 2026. Swan was a treasured member of the KUVO community whose warm presence and passion for music touched the hearts of our listeners and members alike.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Shawn’s journey to the KUVO was fueled by a deep love for music and radio. He honed his craft at the Colorado Media School, transforming his natural talent into the distinctive voice that would become a Saturday morning ritual for so many.

For years, Shawn was the welcoming voice of Breakfast Jazz Cafe, airing every Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. Until a few months ago, he graced the airwaves with his musical selections and engaging talk segments, creating a serene and joyful start to the weekend.

Our deepest condolences go out to his children, grandchildren, and all his loved ones. Shawn’s presence was a gift to KUVO JAZZ. He will be profoundly missed.

Details regarding a celebration of Shawn’s life will be shared as they become available.
