The Night Beat: Jazz Goes to the Movies — The Bob Dylan Songbook

Be sure to tune in on February 26 at 8 p.m. for a very special Night Beat with your host Doug Crane as he presents the final week of Jazz Goes to the Movies for 2025 featuring jazz covers of songs from the Bob Dylan songbook. 

“A Complete Unknown”, the recent biopic/docudrama about Bob Dylan, has been nominated in eight categories of the year’s Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor.

We’ll include Dylan songs including Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright, Just Like a Woman, Shelter from the Storm, Lay Lady Lay, Chimes of Freedom, Everything is Broken and A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall from jazz and blues greats such as Bill Frisell, Diana Krall, Taj Mahal, Etta James, Ben Sidran, Cassandra Wilson, Joe Locke, Nina Simone, and many others.
