Poetry and Jazz have had an ongoing relationship; from Langston Hughes’ Harlem Renaissance, The Beats; Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg to Ken Nordine’s Word Jazz to The Last Poets and Gil Scott Heron to a new generation of Slam Poetry and Hip Hop with all varieties of Jazz alongside.
