Vinyl Vault: “Back to the Roots” – Ramsey Lewis

This week’s Vinyl Vault features a 1971 album from Ramsey Lewis entitled “Back to the Roots.” It’s an acoustic date, primarily with a trio featuring Cleveland Eaton on the bass and Morris Jennings on the drums. Congas and organ make an occasional appearance. It’s a release on Cadet records and features some jazz standards as well as covers of some pop tunes from the day.
