The Denver Jazz scene we know today would be a very different landscape without tenor saxophonist  Freddy Rodriguez Sr.  His decades leading the “Jazz Connection” and hosting visiting luminaries at El Chapultepec has brought the sounds and passion of live Jazz to untold legions of Coloradoans.  A well-deserved tribute to Freddy Sr. will be held Sunday, June 22nd at City Park Jazz, followed by a performance of  the Freddy Rodriguez Quintet, featuring son Freddy Jr. on the piano.  KUVO is proud to present one of the pillars of our city’s musical community live from the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio on Tuesday, June 17th at 1:00 PM during “Take Note with Susan Gatschet Reese”.

Freddy Rodruiguez, Sr. – tenor saxophone
