Film Screening and Zoom Discussion/Q&A

The Last American Indian on Earth
Director Gregg Deal (Pyramid Lake Paiute) documents his first performance piece The Last American Indian on Earth, which explores the romantic, misunderstood and often racist interactions average Americans have when encountering an Indigenous person. The performance allowed Deal to examine his interactions with the public, and the critical thinking that goes into asserting identity and enacting change. (Gregg Deal, 2016, 22 min.).

Following the film, Gregg will join us for a live Zoom discussion about his visual and performance art, and assorted topics of interest. Gregg’s painting, Defiant to the Gods, is currently on display at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.

Discussion/Q&A with Gregg Deal and Mervyn Tano, President IIIRM.

The event is free, but RSVP is required. Click HERE to RSVP.
