This is the South Ivy 3 Album Release Party. Last Summer we recorded a live album of Solo, Duo, and Trio arrangements at Mighty Fine Productions in Denver, CO. We are releasing a digital album as well as high quality videos of the recording session. This performance will feature music from The South Ivy 3 session as well as other originals from the Matt Skellenger catalog. The Group’s instrumentation is a unique mixture of acoustic instruments that are centuries old (Tabla, Ghatam, Udu, Cajon, Trumpet, Trombone, Drums, Conch Shell), with modern electric instruments and effects (Electric Bass, Pedal Steel Guitar, Effects Pedals). Matt’s music is performed in a variety of formats: solo bass, duo, trio, quartet, and the full band, a sextet. Matt has studied with world renowned bassist, composer, and educator Victor Wooten. Matt is a Denver native who has been performing and composing music for over 25 years.
