A true musical genius, Ray Charles had a huge impact on music in the ’50s, ’60s and into the ’70s. He mixed blues, jazz, gospel, and R&B into a musical blend that can only be described as inspirational and moving.

Charles possessed one of the most distinctive voices in American music. He had an unequivocal impact on rhythm and blues in the ’50s. He set the stage for soul music to come in the ’60s, and he reached far beyond musical genres to put his indelible stamp on music globally. He was a musical giant!

Join host Rolando Garcia on Saturday, September 25, at 6 pm as we celebrate the birthday and the music of Brother Ray and  the impact he had on R&B in the Golden Age of Rhythm and Blues that set the stage for soul music in the ’60s.
