Twas the Nightside before Christmas

and down at the station

Poetry and all that Jazz

for your Christmas Vacation

The stockings were hung

in the studio with care

to which someone said

“What are those old socks doing there?”

The children were on cell phones of course

and Mama and I were avoiding divorce

the reindeer were on the rooftop patio

and  an old coot in a red suit

we called Santa Daddyo

bringing on the Christmas cheer

with pilsners and stouts and holiday beer

Sunday before Christmas 8 pm that night

Merry Nightside to all

may your Yuletide be jolly and outtasight
