Miles at 100 on KUVO
Count Miles Dewey Davis III as one of the few artists in the history of recorded music who actually changed the landscape – culturally, politically, socially, and most of all, musically.
The hosts at KUVO are working to mark the centennial of his birth (May 26, 2026) on KUVO in a few ways.

On Tuesday, May 26 (Miles’ actual birthday), KUVO goes hard for Miles, all day.
Starting at midnight until 7:00 a.m. Jazz Network hosts Dee Alexander and Dave Schwan will present their tribute hours to mark Miles Davis’ 100th anniversary.
The Morning Set with Steve Chavis and Abi Clark (7 – 10 a.m.) will feature a mix of Miles tunes, covers, those who influenced Miles and those who were influenced by Miles, plus sound bites from Miles, audio clips from the 2015 Don Cheadle dramatic film “Miles Ahead” and reflections from jazz musicians.
A Jazzy Thing with Tree King (10 a.m. – 1 p.m.) has a special treat, an interview with Vince Wilburn, Jr., Miles’ nephew, bandmate, and co-executor of the Miles Davis Estate. Tree describes their conversation as “so much fun!”
KUVO Music Director Kim Berry (1 – 4 p.m.) has been curating Miles Davis tracks for weeks, so she’s looking forward to presenting a few of her faves, as well as commentary from jazz trumpeters. Evening host Paul Donovan (4 – 8 p.m.) will be digging deep into the Miles Davis catalog for some tracks that will delight and surprise you.
Vinyl Vault host Geoff Anderson has dusted off a few musical gems from his collection of LPs as well, and he’ll be sharing those from 8 to 10 p.m. on the Tuesday Night Beat.
