This Wednesday the Fourth of July at 8pm, KUVO re-broadcasts two one-hour concerts with one of the nation’s hottest big bands, and they happen to wear the uniform of the United States Air Force.  It’s the Airmen of Note!

At 8pm, the Airmen of Note perform with Grammy-nominated vocalist, actress, producer, and music therapist Nnenna Freelon.  At 9pm, the Airmen of Note perform with drummer/music educator Peter Erskine.

The U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note carry on the tradition of Major Glenn Miller’s Army Air Force dance bands from the 1940s.  Its international reputation is further burnished by the Jazz Heritage Series, which has hosted a who’s who of superior jazz talent since 1990.

2018 marks the 11th season of the U.S. Airmen of Note’s Jazz Heritage Series radio broadcasts.  It’s the Airmen of Note for a straight-ahead, swinging Fourth of July, Wednesday at 8 p.m. on KUVO Jazz!
