This prolific organ trio deftly combines the sounds of funk, world music, and jazz to create a sound unto itself. Tony Monaco is one of the top B-3 players in the world. Mentored in the tradition by the legendary Jimmy Smith, Monaco does not swing, smolder or smoke, rather burns. Tony is joined by Fareed Haque who returns to the Nocturne stage for his second visit. Haque is a staple in jazz, blues, funk, and world music circles. He’s a founding member of Garaj Mahal and recent performances include The Chicago Jazz Jestival, The Indy Jazz Fest, Coleman Hawkins Jazz Fest, The South Bend Jazz Festival, and the Sophia Jazz Fest in Bulgaria.
