Eddie Palmieri to perform at The Lincoln Center in Fort Collins on Saturday, November 9 at 7:30pm. NEA Jazz Master Eddie Palmieri & his Afro-Caribbean Jazz Sextet; featuring Eddie Palmieri-piano, Rubén Rodríguez-bass, Little Johnny Rivero-congas, Camilo Molina-timbales, Donald “Big Chief” Harrison-tenor sax, and Brain Lynch-trumpet.

Known as one of the finest pianists of the past 60 years, Palmieri is a bandleader, arranger and composer of salsa and Latin jazz. His playing skillfully fuses the rhythm of his Puerto Rican heritage with the complexity of his jazz influences: Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock, McCoy Tyner as well as his older brother, Charlie Palmieri.

A 10-time Grammy winner, NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) Jazzmaster, Palmieri is known for his unconventional and innovative sound that mixes American jazz with Afro-Caribbean rhythms that encompasses elements of salsa, funk, soul, and jazz.
