Jazz is full of restless seekers; searching for new sounds, for new inspirations, and new challenges. As long as there’s been jazz there have been musicians who looked across the world for these things. Dizzy Gillespie looked to Cuba, Yusef Lateef to Asia, and Randy Weston to Africa just to name a few.

The Jazz River host Matthew Goldwasser will highlight Americans who are World Jazz Travelers, musicians and bands that have found inspirations from music beyond their home shores. Take the journey downriver with people such as Don Cherry, David Amram, Duke Ellington, and Taj Mahal. Tune in Sunday, October 13, from 5-6pm (RMT) only on KUVO Jazz.
