This weekend marks two years since Super Sonido hit the airwaves at KUVO!

Super Sonido is one year older, wiser, and with hair a little whiter. Join La Molly as she blows out the sonic candles on Sunday, August 16 at 4 pm.

To celebrate, La Molly will showcase all the artists she’s fallen in love with over the last year. Artists like “Orieta Chrem,” “Son Rompe Pera,” and “Agrupación Changó.”

Orieta Chrem – the Producer and DJ from Lima, Peru makes music that is as much danceable as it is transcendent. Her techno/global bass beats are a mystical experience that guides you on a deep journey into the universe.

Son Rompe Pera – the group of brothers from the outskirts of Mexico City who are asserting the importance of the Marimba while declaring that “Cumbia is the new Punk”. The raucous energy of their cumbias is sure to make anyone dance.

Agrupacion Chango is another spiritual experience. From the border of Colombia and Ecuador, the group is preserving traditional Afro Colombian sounds of the Pacific Coast. They use Marimba and African spirituality to move your body and your spirit.
