Vocalist Teresa Carroll, longtime Denver area resident and jazz performer died on Tuesday, March 15, 2022.  She had relocated to Tucson, Arizona to continue her battle with cancer.

Teresa Carroll had performed in the Denver area for more than 30 years, adding her energetic soprano to bandstands large and small. She performed at numerous jazz festivals including Jazz Aspen Snowmass, Westcliffe Jazz Festival, Estes Park Jazz Festival, A Taste of Colorado, City Park Jazz, and The People’s Fair. Around Denver, she was a regular performer at Dazzle at Baur’s, Nocturne Jazz and Supper Club, The Golden Hotel, Caffé Sole in Boulder, and La Cour Bistro and Jazz Bar.

Carroll was twice awarded “Best Jazz Vocalist” and once named “Best Opera Singer” by Westword Magazine.

Three of her performances were captured on KUVO’s “Live at the Oasis” series on Volumes 5, 7, and 11. She generously donated her time to these performances held during the radio station’s membership campaigns. Her other recording credits include “Live at Dazzle” (CIMP, 2013) and “Smile” (2005). Her guest vocalist appearances included Fred Wesley’s “Comme Ci, Comme Ca” (1991, Antilles).
