It is to McCoy Tyner’s great credit that his career after John Coltrane has been far from anti-climatic. Along with Bill Evans, Tyner has been the most influential pianist in jazz of the past 50 years, with his chord voicings being adopted and utilized by virtually every younger pianist. A powerful virtuoso and a true original (compare his playing in the early ’60s with anyone else from the time), Tyner has not altered his style all that much from his early days but he has continued to grow and become even stronger.

(Scott Yanow – All Music)

Join the Jeff Jenkins Trio in a tribute to the life and music of Tyner in an intimate gathering of jazz fans who come together to share not just the music, but also the stories behind the music. A gourmet three-course meal and wine are always included with a vegetarian option available. Rounding out this outstanding trio are Seth Lewis (bass) and Jim White (drums)

As a pianist, Jenkins has worked with many American jazz legends including Freddie Hubbard, David “Fathead” Newman, Marlena Shaw, Eddie Harris, Richie Cole, Dakota Staton, Bobby Hutcherson, Curtis Fuller, Benny Golson, John Abercrombie, and Clark Terry and Dave Liebman, among others.

A gourmet three-course meal and wine are always included with a vegetarian option available.
