An Evening with Kenny Garrett | June 26 & 27

Five-time Grammy Award-nominee and 2010 Grammy Award-winner Kenny Garrett inspires his listeners to rise from their seats, stay in the pocket, or let it all hang out with fresh grooves and dynamics emanating from his latest Mack Avenue Records release titled Do Your Dance. The 9-track recording is a travelogue of rhythms that contains such musical styles as straight-ahead jazz to ’70s-style beach get down to hip-hop raps.

Kenny composed and arranged all of the songs, plays the alto saxophone, piano, flute, and shruti box on this distinguished set that keeps you engaged from start to finish. He is joined by an exciting ensemble of notable musicians including Vernell Brown on piano, Corcoran Holt on bass, McClenty Hunter and Ronald Bruner, Jr. on drums, Rudy Bird on percussion, and rapper Donald “Mista Enz” Brown, Jr., all of whom bring Garrett’s musical visions to life with exemplary commands of their respective instruments.
