Andy O’ has been named the new weekday afternoon host on KUVO Jazz.  Andy O’ will be hosting from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. weekday afternoons.

Andy O’ has a long history at KUVO Jazz, beginning as a volunteer host in 1989.  He was music director at KUVO in the mid-1990s into the early-2000s.  O’Leary, a published poet, continued on the air as the longtime host of KUVO’s Sunday night jazz and poetry program “The Nightside with Andy O’,” heard Sunday evenings 8:00 p.m. to midnight.  Andy O’ is also a bassist, and founded the Denver-based band Coyote Poets of the Universe.

“As a poet, musician and musicologist, Andy O’Leary is a force on Denver’s creative scene, and we’re delighted to have him present jazz weekday afternoons on KUVO,” said Steve Chavis, KUVO program director.  “Andy O’ has deep knowledge and a great ear for both classic jazz and the music that’s happening today on the scene.”

“It’s great to bring the audience jazz every day, and to present this art form alongside my friends and colleagues at KUVO,” said O’Leary. Andy O’ can be reached at AndyO@kuvo.org.
