For this month’s Wine, Beer and Food Pairing you are in for a treat. Uno Mas’ General Manager Brian Forrester stopped by the KUVO studios and brought  three  jumbo, mouthwatering Tortas (Torta el Ranchero  Grilled carne asada,  Torta Ahogada  Carnitas smothered in salsa Guadalajara & a  vegetarian Torta Rostizada  Portabellas y nopales, salsa tomatillo . All served on telera rolls with romaine lettuce , sliced sweet onion, tomato, avocado, black bean puree, chile lime mayo y picked house veggies. The food was not only delicious, but very filling as well (3 Tortas fed 5 people), it’s no wonder Uno Mas is  expanding to a 3rd location, they have amazing food and people want it. And after this pairing, I can see why their food is in such high demand.

Brandon Norton of Joy Wine and Spirits filled in for Carolyn Joy this month and brought not one, not two, but three  very unique beers to go with each one of the Torta’s.  Brandon is the go to man at Joy Wine and Spirits for beer, and during this pairing he showed exactly why he is such. He brought a Brasserie Au Baron Cuvée de Jonquilles,  a Brasserie de Blaugies Darbyste, and a Scratch Brewing Mumm. During the interview he explained his selection process of how he matched the beers to the tortas.
