Flutist Dorothy Pino will perform with her quintet at DazzleJazz January 27 at 7 PM.

Pino will be joined by Kevin Lee (guitar), Drew Morell (bass), Kari Ditta (piano), and Bill Larson (drums).

Tickets are $5 to $8 and can be purchased here

Pino holds a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master of arts in teaching from Biola University.

She currently teaches instrumental music at East High School with Keith Oxman.

Over the past three years of working with Oxman, Pino has journeyed from being a classical musician to embracing the world of jazz and bossa nova.

Oxman’s patience, immense jazz knowledge, constant critiques, and encouragement motivated Pino to form a jazz group and seek out performance venues. She is thankful to Oxman for introducing her the members of her bossa nova quintet, and believing that she could be more than “just a classical musician.”
