A Centennial Tribute to Thad Jones featuring the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Keith Oxman, and the East High Jazz Combo.

Gift of Jazz and the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra are thrilled to present a centennial tribute to artist and composer Thad Jones. This program will also feature the East High Jazz Combo, as well as Keith Oxman (director of the East High Jazz Combo).

Thad Jones had a stellar career as a trumpeter and composer throughout the ’60s and ’70s, winning a Grammy for his work with Mel Lewis. Thad’s harmonically rich charts are favorites of the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra (MJO), a top-notch big band here in the Front Range.
