The Bar at Plaza 38 supports Casa Milagro Youth Solutions with a fundraiser for the Teen Engagement Workshop. Come by Nana’s Cocina at 38th and Lowell (inside Bar at Plaza 38) on Sunday, December 4, and on Tuesday, December 6, Colorado Gives Day between 11-5 pm, Nana’s Cocina will be serving a free bowl of rico posole to you when you stop in.

Casa Milagro Youth Solutions: We began with a commitment to serving our youth and the need for hearing their voices, providing them with a powerful tool to present their suppressed emotions in a positive process.  We have seen and heard countless constructive solutions played out and our youth emerging with confidence with the interactive Forum Theater techniques we are based on.

We are continuing to build upon our dedication to meeting the NEEDS+ of our youth. Today’s real-life stressors including peer pressure, social media, and intolerance of sexual orientation are factors in the mental well-being of our youth. We are now setting out with an all-expense paid Teen Engagement Workshop in Winter Park to train and develop 40 of our youth on our interactive techniques to become Peer Mentor Actor Leads for their organizations, our partners.  The workshop will also include afternoon or evening activities including swimming in the outdoor heated pool, gondola rides and tubing under the neon lights, and one full day of skiing.  The youth will return to their organizations and will be able to present improv skits based on issues their peers are encountering and requesting.
