8:30 PM – Set 2: Sonya Vallet Quintet (Brazilian Bossa Nova/Jazz)
Colorado Brazil Fest is excited to present an evening of Choro, Bossa Nova and Brazilian jazz at Dazzle at Baur’s in Denver, Colorado. An enchanting retrospective of Brazilian music will be presented. In the first set, Dexter Payne Quintet will play Brazilian choro jazz and forró, traditions rooted in the 19th century which inspired and influenced the birth of samba and bossa nova and are still very much alive in Brazilian popular music today. For the second set, Sonya Vallet y Los Profugos Galacticos will play a set of Brazilian Jazz, ranging from Jobim classics to compositions by Ivan Lins, Joyce Moreno, Djavan and Joao Bosco.
