Presented by the Colorado based ‘Dart Echo‘ (Matt Smiley – bass, Briana Harris – sax, Ben Parrish – guitar, Dru Heller – drums), this four night series throughout April, exploring the musical legacy of one of jazz music’s most iconic improvisers Ornette Coleman.

Dart Echo was founded in 2015 and has performed compositions by Paul Motian, Nick Drake, David Bowie, 1960s classic jazz, as well as original music written by band members. For these April performances, the band will focus primarily on the music of saxophonist and composer Ornette Coleman, one of the icons of the “free jazz” movement in the 1960s and later. Coleman’s early music draws heavily from the classic ‘hard bop’ tradition as well as soul music, and the unique crossover talents in Dart Echo present a contemporary interpretation of these iconic compositions.
