Jazz Piano Class with Vlad Girshevich Saturdays 11:30 am – 1:00 pm:: Taught online through Zoom’s user-friendly conferencing program
How do you approach playing the piano and integrating complicated concepts in a simple, intuitive way?
This semester’s class will continue to build upon the foundations established last semester. Students will study how to practically apply the knowledge they learned from last semester such as building triads down from the melody and using them while playing and improvising. Students will also study the characteristic styles of great jazz pianists such as Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, and Bill Evans. Through studying the unique approaches of these great pianists, students will be able to digest complex concepts and integrate them into their playing in an intuitive way.
