Tnorala: Director Warwick Thornton (Kaytej Nation). Tnorala, located in Central Australia, is a place of unique and sacred importance to the Western Arrernte people, who actively protect its beauty and integrity. Storyteller Aunty Mavis Malbunka takes us on a journey through time as she describes the relationship of her people to the ancestors, to the land, to intruders, and modern tourism that may be the key to preserving Tnorala for future generations. Turangawaewae: A Place to Stand. Director Peter Burger (Ngāi Tahu, Rangitāne, and Pākehā), Screenplay by Wiremu Grace (Ngāti Toa Rangatira, Atiawa ki Whakarongotai and Ngāti Porou). A Maori veteran of the Vietnam War is haunted by memories of violence, death and destruction. Turangawaewae, that place to stand, and whanau (family), provide Tiare, played by the late Wi Kuki Kaa (Ngāti Porou and Ngāti Kahungunu), the firm base from which his healing can begin.
