Trombonist Jon Gauer will present a set of original music performed by some of the most talented young musicians in Denver. The Octet is Gauer’s first project as a composer/bandleader after more than a decade of experience as a sideman. His musical influences range from classic artists such as Urbie Green, Curtis Fuller, Benny Golson, and Thad Jones, as well as modern artists including Michael Davis, Marshall Gilkes, Snarky Puppy, and Hiatus Kaiyote.
